"The author talked a good talk about acidity in our bodies, but too much of the book sounded like an ad for some special product. I'm always wary when something sounds too good to be true and this book was full of it."
"I learned from reading this book that there are well-meaning people who simply take things too far when it comes to nutrition! Any book that starts out by saying that eating fruit is a no-no because fruit is acidic and we should just be eating ALL GREEN STUFF loses my respect quickly. Swallowing clay to help absorb acids and remove them from the bloodstream also is an extreme. As is the recommendation that all sources of drinking water are unacceptable unless it is distilled, given drops to make it extra alkaline . . . the author even invented and promotes some machine that gives it more ions . . . just not sustainable over the long term. Green tea is too acidic and forbidden. That right there goes against scientists like Dr. Weil and or Dr. Mark Hyman who clearly tout the virtues of drinking it. Exercise is also attacked as something that creates acidity in the blood unless you do it their way, which is by purchasing a mini trampoline (?!) and bouncing for 15 minutes ONLY per day. Or for strength training, doing only 1 rep, just doing it slowly. I noticed just now that the author is a PhD . . . not an MD."
