"I really had high hopes for this book. The format is praiseworthy: each section begins with a case, followed by a discussion of the relevant pathology, followed by a few "comprehension questions". The problem is the level of this book. It's written at quite a low level. The point of it seems to be to help students prepare for USMLE, but if you've had even the tiniest bit of pathology beforehand, this book is too easy to even be a review. I tried to use it for my pathology exam, and I felt like the cases and review questions were hitting me over the head with a hammer in their obviousness.
Essentially, I'm trying to think of a situation in which this book can be useful, and the only one I'm coming up with is if you've never had pathology before, don't plan on ever taking pathology, but want to read a fairly easy book about the subject and have a medium level of basic science knowledge (i.e, you must be able to understand 'necrosis', 'caseating granulomas', 'metaplasia', etc.)"
