"I didn't. I knew the general precepts of evolution, but didn't really understand Darwinism. Marilynne Robinson isn't exactly a proponent of "intelligent design", but she gives you something to think about. It's a way of understanding why some Christians feel so threatened by science and that some proponents of Darwinism/Evolution don't rely on the scientific method at all. There's a lot to think about here and it does make you think and rethink your assumptions and foregone conclusions. It may not change your mind, but it gives your brain a good kick in the pants."
