"I don't get why the train gets a fold-out cross-section, when the plane only gets the standard treatment. The plane is way cooler. And when the hell was the last time you saw a plane with an upstairs lounge and sleeping quarters? I've been on a 747 and I couldn't imagine there being room for such a thing. Where did all the extra room go?"
"This book is GREAT! I saw a copy of it in my son's kindergarten class and ostensibly got it for him...but I keep looking and reading it! The illustrations are amazingly detailed and informative. If you ever wondered what the insides of the Empire State Building, a 747 and the Queen Mary looked like this book gives you an amazing view of those and many others. Every time you look at this book you will discover something new. Its almost like a very technical "where's waldo" type of book. The drawings aren't too technical or too static and what's really neat is that throughout each cross-section there's people illustrated, doing what they do on a fishing boat, in a cathedral, opera house, 747, etc. So it gives one (especially a kid) a realistic idea at what goes on inside these things. My son and I have a running game we play where we look for a person on a toilet - almost every cross-section has the bathroom or lavatory in it somewhere (don't worry, there's nothing too graphic!). This book is fun! Get it! Be sure its in good condition as the cross-section for the Queen Mary folds out like a centerfold."
