"What a great Bible. It is stylish, has great references and a very soft cover. I have only found one thing in the notes in which I do not agree with but can forget that as it is the authors personal notes, but this gives you things to think about as long as you don't take his words as the Word. "I highly recommend the "MacArthur Study Bible" for those who have a hunger for a deeper understanding of God's word. Dr. MacArthur's helpful notes on various theological, historical, and grammatical subjects are insightful, and assist those with little or no greek/hebrew skills to achieve a greater level of knowledge of the scriptures. I find it helpful to read the themmatic and historical information, and the book outline, before I begin studying a particular book of the bible. I just finished reading I Samuel, and found that I Samuel introductorary notes made the book come alive for me as I read. Also, I like to read the footnotes on each page of text before I acutally read the text. For example, this morning I read the footnotes of I Samuel chapter 30 and 31, and then I read the text. This gave me a deeper understanding as I read, as some of the more advanced concepts had been clearly explained by MacArthur in his footnotes. In a sense, having my MacArthur (which is getting well worn!), is like having both the Bible, and a great set of commentaries all rolled up into one!. I never travel without it! Of all the books I've read, the Bible is the only one which has both changed my destination and my thinking! Again, I give the "McArthur Study Bible" my highest recommendation."
