"When one considers that Froissart's Chronicles make nearly everyone's list of top-ten most important Western historical works, it is amazing how difficult it was for me to find an unabridged version of this title.
Well, my search finally ended with this edition. Thank you University of Michigan for reprinting this edition of Froissart.
It is such a pleasure to read the Chronicles without having to compare three different abridged versions in an attempt to find one that might have the missing chapters I am looking for. This copy is a well-built hard back. This translation captures Froissart's humor and cinematographic, fast-paced prose. As a modern reprint, it also costs hundreds or thousands of dollars less less than an original, unabridged print. As a reader, as opposed to a collector, this modern reprint edition is perfect for me.
Thank you, thank you, University of Michigan library."
