Very Good in Very Good jacket. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" (UK) This is the 2nd printing of the second edition., No markings, but the old dust jacket sleeve has left a faint linear discolouration to the endpapers, otherwise solid Very Good in unclipped very Good dust jakcet in sleeve. Blue cloth, l, 598pp, index. Frontis illus, B&W illus, fold-out illus all in perfect order. Waddell was a British Medical Officer assigned to the darjeeling District from 1885-1895. This treatise on Tibetan Buddhism was first published in 1894. The book is a valuable source of first hand information especially with regards to shrines, superstitions and customs.
