About this title: Have you noticed - the greater a man's skill, the more he achieves with less? And the skill of strength is no exception. From the ancient days of Greek wrestling, to the jealously guarded secrets of Chinese Kung Fu masters, to the hard men of modern spec ops, warriors and allied strongmen have developed an amazing array of skills for generating inhuman strength. But these skills have been scattered far and wide, held closely secret, or communicated in a piecemeal fashion that has left most of us frustrated and far from reaching our true strength potential. Now, for the first time, Russian ...

"This book is essentially about how to construct an effective strength regimen with no equipment, using two exercises and their variations: the one legged squat (a pistol), and the one armed push-up. Since most people won't be able to do those right away, he covers a progression that will get you there.
The problem is that this is really not enough material to fill out a book, so he has to pad it with less than useful information and extremely large fonts. For example he some how managed to spend a whole chapter describing the "grease the groove" technique, and to lengthen it further he has section titles like "Summing up GTG" and "Summing up GTG even more" and "Compressing GTG in ten words or less"-- essentially summarizing an already over long chapter three times.
Pavel also spends the first chapter saying basically nothing, and covers breathing in chapter 3 and 4 in what is probably way too much detail (this all seemed vary obvious to me, but maybe I've been doing martial arts too long).
Also, for some reason Pavel felt that the book required ten pages of ads for his stuff at the back, including some products of dubious value (Come on, what the hell is an "Ab Pavelizer"?). Is making me carry this around part of the exercise program?
However, for all these criticisms, the descriptions of the exercises and the progression is detailed, and the program is effective (although not as effective as he claims... I can't tell if Pavel is trying to be funny or not when he talks about "super strength"). If you need an effective strength work out you can do with absolutely no equipment beyond "something thing you can put your feet/hands on", or just want to do one armed push-ups because they are totally bad-ass, this is a worthwhile book to read."
"I got a lot of good ideas and concepts from this book. It was pricy and the REALLY LARGE PRINT was a little annoying. But I am glad I read it and I will very likely reference back to it for workouts in the future."
