"Very well written, very succinct. Extremely inspirational as well as educational. It's a modern-day explanation of Kaballah and what it means in a practicle sense."
"I bought this at Quest Bookshop last week, then got home and realized someone I used to know had reviewed it badly and I had commented on that review. Who knew? I didn't! That being said...
There was a point in my life when I would not have understood this. I don't know if it's possible to fully grasp the importance of these things without having hit a serious bottom in your life.
I think that's why Michael Berg is so insanely adamant about the teachings in here. And make no mistake, he's a little insane. The book has nutty-ass pink, bold fonts and reads like a freaked-out email my mother would send to me about a computer virus.
The thing is, he doesn't need to be so over-the-top about this. He can only preach to the choir, anyway. Anyone who he really NEEDS to reach will not be able to get outside of their own ego long enough to understand it anyway.
But, hey, if he reached just one person with this message, then more power to him. I already was on the same path with him when I opened this book. But I found it very inspiring, and a good twist on the ego-killing philosophy that I had thus far only been reading about from a Buddhist point-of-view."
"My biggest objection to this book: Almost every other paragraph was printed in hot pink, all-capital letters. I don't know if there's anything a book can do to redeem itself after something like that.
But if you're somehow able to overlook the bizarre and very distracting layout, you might find this book an interesting read. Some other books on this topic are filled with symbols, complex diagrams, Hebrew &/or Aramaic terms, and generally make the whole thing seem very foreign and incomprehensible. This book is more like Kabbalah for dummies - just a few basic concepts, very accessible, geared towards an audience with no background in the subject. Think introductory missionary discussions for investigators of Kabbalah. Written by a missionary with a penchant for hot pink."
