Acceptable. A book with obvious wear. May have some damage to the cover or binding but integrity is still intact. There might be writing in the margins, possibly underlining and highlighting of text, but no missing pages or anything that would compromise the legibility or understanding of the text.
Very good. Open Books is a nonprofit social venture that operates two extraordinary bookstores, provides community programs, and mobilizes passionate volunteers to promote literacy in Chicago and beyond.
Good. Connecting readers with great books since 1972. Used books may not include companion materials, some shelf wear, may contain highlighting/notes, may not include cdrom or access codes. Customer service is our top priority!
I bought this book sight unseen based on the title alone and in principle shows one how to paint flowers using glazing/transparent watercolour. After reading it I don?t the patience or inclination to apply the techniques espoused as they are terribly fiddly and I have a ?thing? against paintings developed from photographs and tracing, but each to their own. Not with standing the foregoing comments the author/artist?s direct use of colour is very good and her explanation of colour principles and use is one of the clearest and most concise I've seen?full marks there. On further positive note, the craftsmanship and attention to detail cannot be faulted and is an excellent ?how to do? example for any budding artist to develop these skills (which I find sadly lacking in most contemporary artwork). I have no regrets in purchasing the book for my library as a reference but have a look it first if you are not interested in producing a form of artistic photo realism.
