Description: New. Please note that deliveries to addresses in the UK and Europe will be in 4-14 business days. Other countries should refer to Alibris standard times. A gripping, sometimes surreal account of surviving one of the world's craziest and most dangerous prisons, San Pedro Bolivia. Good sales in hardback. ISBN10: 0330419587. read more
"Good, enjoyable, harsh, and somehow recognisable for trackers, even though it's set in a jail. Not particularly well written, but not unpleasant either."
"An amazing true story about life and suffering in a very strange jail in Bolivia told from the perspective of a British man who spent many years of his life there in the late 1990's. I was constantly torn in my sympathies for the author and his friends and it was this tension that made it such a compelling story. Highly recommended for any interested in reading a crazy tale set in Latin America - and all true!"
"Not amazingly written, but a really great, interesting story about an English drug dealer who is finally caught while trying to smuggle coke through the Bolivian airport. He gets taken to one of the craziest prisons, in San Pedro, where he has to pay to enter, buy a luxurious prison cell, then furnish it with TV, fridge, and bed. Definitely worth reading if you're interested in Latin America, drugs, or just want to be entertained by an unimaginable story."
