"I'm using this book for the second time in one of my freshman composition classes. It's one of the easiest-to-read 111 textbooks I've come across thus far - much like a handbook without the grammar instruction. The chapter on APA references is superb and the section on rhetorical situations clear and concise.
As it is relatively light on readings, it is best for teachers who stress a writing-workshop class format. The readings it does have provide useful examples of expert and novice writing. My only other complaint, if that, is that in its efforts to be readable it comes off as somewhat repetitive.
