Vowing revenge, Florence travels to the entirely fictional but eminently plausible emirate of Matar to set up a subversively woman-friendly TV show and generally wreak havoc. Buckley spares no one in this comic look at US ...

"Great political satire of the highest order!
Dealing with topics that are in the news on a
regular basis, you will enjoy the twists and turns
this book takes. And, you will believe in the
characters."
"I know I am not supposed to be reading novels this summer, but I can't help it. I love Buckley's books. This novel was equally as funny as Thank You for Smoking, but addresses the much deeper issue of female rights in the Middle East."
"It was good until it started to suck. Buckley's satire on Middle East policy is hilarious in the beginning and I was really starting to love the main character Florence and her attempt to promote women's rights in the Middle East. She goes to Matar (not to be confused with Qatar) and starts to cause trouble, especially in their neighboring country Wasabia (sounds like Saudi Arabia?). Then she refuses to leave even after her generous and anonymous benefactor leaves and other things happen - I keep wondering why is she being so stupid.
Despite this Buckley still throws the reader for loops and turns that are hilarious. I laughed so hard that it took me five minutes before I was calm enough to tell my husband what was so funny. If you are interested in the region or the politics - I would definitely recommend the book."
"Although it reads a bit like a screenplay and does not possess depth of dialogue I found the book carried the same satirical humor that seems typical of Buckley."
