"I haven't had my birth yet, so I don't have a personal testimony as to whether or not the Tupler method will help me have a successful natural birth, but it really has helped me feel like I've taking charge of my body and am in control and doing everything I can to make this crazy process go smoothly. The exercises in this book are way too time consuming for any working pregnany mom to realistically complete (the BAKS basics take over an hour once you work up to the recommended number of sets), but I do what I can, already feel stronger than I did when I started, and figure they can't hurt.
About a year ago, I had paid a personal trainer at New York Sports Club who was supposedly certified in pregnancy fitness to help me set up a pre-pregnancy/pre-birth workout routine and was very disappointed with the results. She had me doing the same light weights and crunches as everyone else she worked with, and everyone knows you can't do crunches when you're pregnant. I wish I'd saved my money and just found this book sooner.
Also: if you're lucky enough to live near NYC like me, there's a spa/fitness center called Spa Bebe in Manhattan that uses the Tupler method and offers classes in it. I'm going to check out their free introductory classes this weekend (They're having a pre-mother's day expo) and am considering signing up for a series of classes, because it's one thing to read about something in a book and another to have someone guide you through it live."
