"Pretty good collections of short stories that give the reader glimpses of what else was going on during the Dominion War, other than what we saw on TV. Interestingly, it includes a lot of novels as part of the Star Trek canon. Guess I'm just not used to that idea, but not opposed, as there is some damn fine writing there.
If you want to get all nostalgic about DS9 and 'the good old days' of Trek,I recommend it."
"For those who aren't clear from the book's description, almost all of the short stories in this book take place during the Dominion War. There is one story that has a frame that takes place many years later.
With few exceptions, I enjoyed these stories, even for the series I wasn't familiar with -- New Frontiers and the S.C.E. e-books. I think there's something here for Trek fans of almost any or every flavor. In particular, if you're a DS9 fan who was not put off by the longer story-arcs of the last 2-4 seasons, especially the Dominion War itself, I would say it's definitely worth the investment."
