About this title: Leonardo da Vinci always dreamed of sculpting a horse in motion--made of bronze and standing three times larger than any living horse. "This book is adorable and a great way to learn about many different topics at once such as Leonardo da Vinci and the scuplting process. Great for children or adults who want a fun and eduactional read!"
"Magnificent! We studied the Renaissance this year and came across this simple book. Little did we know about Leonardo's Horse. This was fun to read and fun to learn.
On the back last page of the book, there was a reference to this sculpture in the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We were so overwhelmed by this little book and this monumental project that Leonardo was working on, we took a trip to go see the Horse.
If you can't make it there, go on line and look for at picture of the horse (and enjoy all the other sculptures and gardens, too!) You and your kids will love seeing it after you read the story. It makes Leondardo's art come to life. It's also wonderful to know that others were so inspired by Da Vinci that they wanted his horse here!"
"A very nice book about Il Cavallo, the 24-foot high horse statue conceived by Da Vinci, and finished 500 years later in 1999 by a team of devoted individuals. An amazing story."
