"Holy @#%&!!!! What a fantastic book! I absolutely loved "Tempting the Beast" by Lora Leigh! As the first book in the Breeds series, Ms. Leigh describes how the Breeds race(s) were created in labs with engineered DNA crossed with animal and human traits to become powerful, indestructable, and disposable weapons for a powerful agency called the Council.
This book focuses on the pride of "Feline Breeds" that escaped the labs that housed and experimented on them. Merinus, a journalist, wants to expose the Council for the experiments and atrocities inflicted on the Breeds, and inform the world of their existence through the pride leader, Callan Lyons. The passion that erupts between Merinus and Callan was just breathtaking and unbelieveably erotic! Add to that the growing threat against the pride by the Council, and the mystery surrounding all of the charactors in this story, and this book was a fast-paced, exciting, and very HOT read for this reader!
I recommend this book to all those PR fans who enjoy very detailed and hot reading material! WHOO! Very good, very entertaining, this start of the Breed series definitely will have me reading ALL 15(I think it is 15) books along with the short stories in this series!"
"I really wanted to like this series. But it is not for me. I need something more than sex to like a book. It was like reading the same thing over and over again. The things that were happening felt like added just to have something more than sex in this book.
There was not a real conection between the characters. And it is not that I don't like strong and very possesive males. I do. And I love when the males feel this strong conection with the girl without even having talk to her. But in this book this was too exaggerated. I read this kind of attraction in other books and it was way better developed.
Maybe the next books in the series are better. I'll give this series another try later."

"While not as developed plot wise than her later books this one is still smoking hot. I really needed a cold shower after some of the scenes. Having started this series with Megan's Mark it was interesting to see the beginnings of characters that are established in later books. Of course the world is more fully formed now, but it started out with a clear vision nonetheless."
