"This is the most amazing book! I am reading it as part of my research on happiness/positive psychology. This is not really a sit on the couch and be entertained book, although it is infinately interesting as it explains how Martin Seligman and Christopher Peterson, as well as other pioneering psychologists in this field, have gone about categorizing 24 virtues under 6 character strengths. They answer the philosophers and hedonists who might be cynical of this approach to exploring happiness. They also explain the process of finding values and character strengths which are valued in different cultures, to highlight. It is interesting to read how these character strengths are (and have been) embraced through out time. I have used this book as a reference (which is probably its original intent) several times in the few months which I have owned it. This book really helps one to understand why goodness is universally accepted, and why it should be embraced."
