"This small book of barely over 100 pages includes parables, folktales, and short stories from Spanish writers in a dual language format, with Spanish on one page and English facing it. The selections increase in difficulty, but gently so, the first few using only present tense verbs, for example. All the selections are charming and entertaining, and by the time the reader reaches the longer short stories in the last third of the book, he is immersed in the narratives themselves, a thoroughly enjoyable and easy experience. A Spanish to English vocabulary list is included; it is especially helpful since it lists separately forms of irregular verbs. Overall, I found this an engaging and entertaining way to increase my facility with a language I only began learning about four months ago."
