"Perfect. I do not think I have ever read a series that was so perfect. The plot, charcters, and writing were all flawless. Fitz and the Fool were two characters I do not think any other writer could have scripted so brilliantly. Thier freidnship was unlike anything in any other books and it was the underlining plot to the entire series. I have never read a book that made me feel so connected to the charcters and I applaude Robin Hobb for her perfect characterization."
"I liked the conclusion to this series, a little too much tying up at the end, but it sufficed. I hate it when you get to the end of a long series and it requires half a book to tie up all the loose ends after the major story has climaxed. It is frustrating to read, but there is something to be said about not worrying that the author will try to pick the series back up again."
"I was very happy with this series (though I wouldn't recommend anyone read it without reading the Farseer trilogy first). I must have been happy because I read all three books within a week at the cost of many hours of sleep.
However, can I just say to those of you who have read these books that I couldn't really buy the Molly thing? Is anyone with me on this? I understand she represents home and hearth for him (or cave and cubs!) and perhaps his lost youth. But she just wasn't a compelling character for me. More like a port in which to dock a ship."
"This series... man. I loved this series and wanted to throw it against the wall so many times. The main character especially challenged me as a reader. Fitz is, without a question, a immensely believable character. If for no other reason then that there are so many times you want to slap him for being so often fallible. He is by no means perfect and he makes many selfish or foolhardy decisions. But that only wants you to want that much more for him to improve and succeed.
The relationship between him and those who surround him are also extremely compelling. Especially the Fool.
Do yourself a favor and get this series. But make sure to read"
