"This is an excellent work with great information on what makes us feel the way we do and what we can do to optimize our moods, alertness, get enough sleep, relaxation, etc. What we can do is watch what our brains' need in terms of amino acids that lead to production of things like dopamine and seratonin. This means certain foods and some supplements (the latter sometimes just for a while.) Wow: how wonderful to have this kind of say in one's moods! Disclaimer is that there are indeed mental illnesses that will not respond to these measures. But for others, she calls our moods 'false'- sometimes induced by what we are pumping into our bodies!
"Excellent book! The value of amino acids in our diet and how they effect our brain and its ability to keep us emotionally stable. I'm all for natural ways and easy ways to feel better...."
"Julie Ross breaks down biochemistry into a very easy package, allowing the reader to understand how supply and demand of amino acids can lead to neurotransmitter imbalance and resulting emotional issues."
"I thought this book made sense. I'm going to try some of what she advocates. Well written and info was backed up by studies. Six years have passed since it was written and main stream doctors are beginning to advocate some of these same ideas."
