"I admit it. It is definitely not the finest of the series, but it does have its merit, if you remove it from the Malloren setting. Ashart is a rakish hero who still manages to be attractive while Genova is a worldly virtuous heroine. Its a good pair. I might just like heroes that are really not as competent as their heroines. Ash had his faults and they popped up every now and then.
The worst thing for this book was the Malloren backdrop. It did not help fans endear themselves to the new H/h."
