More than a travel book, Italian ...

"I am in love with anything Italian - so it's a given that I would enjoy this book. The author moves to the Veneto with his Italian wife, and we dive into the culture along with them. Very different from the typical travel lit, didn't focus on food/wine or home renovations - just on people. Now that I'm finished, I feel like I've moved and will miss the neighbours."
"I only got a start and had to return it, but it was going pretty well. It explained and expanded on some culture stuff that we saw in Italy. I'd like to get it again and finish it. Someday."
"Great book. Written by a British ex pat living in the Veneto (where I am currently living). I was laughing out loud at many points, especially the chapter titled "Mamma". I think this would mainly be a book for people that have lived in the Veneto, if I hadn't been living here for a few months I don't think I would have liked it so much."
