Amir, who ends up in America, is tortured by his betrayal of Hassan, and he finds himself compelled to return, years later, to a Taliban-dominated Afghanistan to make amends. THE KITE RUNNER, written by an Afghani--now a physician ...

"This book is a real find. It has heartache, and adventure, while really getting a look at what can happen to a man when regret runs his life. It is a look inside the culture of the afghan people. I find it truly captivating and hard to put down. I bought a copy for my sister-in-law who is also an avid reader."
"The Kite Runner was a book I had to read for a World Literature course. It was a very good book, and I would recommend this book outside of a classroom setting as well."
"I enjoyed this book..The writer has an ability to make you feel you are actually living through the whole story- as if you were there. I cried when the book was done..."
"This book was recommended to me by an Afghanistan interpreter.
The book was hard to put down It was about a friendship between two young boys of a different social status that circumstances tore the friendship apart.
While reading the book and being in Afghanistan at the same time I could imagine I actually knew the characters. I could feel the pain that one boy suffered in secret. I could see the war torn country for myself and tie it into the book as well.
Overall it is a good book and I am glad I read it. The Kite Runner tells of Afghan customs that were almost destroyed by war and Taliban.
Freindship, betrayal and courage are brought out through the words of the author."
