"This book is an autobiography of Mary Higgins Clark's life. I admire the woman very much and enjoyed the detailed look at her growing up years as well as her adult life before she started writing. I think the enjoyment of the book will be determined by the interest in Mary as a person; people looking for writing instruction or some kind of scandalous twist will be disappointed. I was not. I would have loved to read some of her early writing samples in the pages, but didn't think about it until the book was done--the post read blues, perhaps. Great story for people interested in a story about a strong woman who loved her family and never gave up on her own gifts and talents."
"So far, so good. Interesting memoir of the depression in NYC. It would probably be even better if I had read any of her novels--she keeps telling me which real life people from her life become which characters in her books. Overall, very interesting and well written. Good story about following the dream, succeeding through hard work and determination even though the road is rough. Still can't figure out the choice of title, but I guess that's not a deal breaker!"
