About this title: From the Hugo and Nebula-award winning author--hailed by Roger Zelazny as "one of the greatest storytellers of the century"--a powerful, heady epic of alternate history that imagines a world in which the Roman Empire survived and flourished into the 21st century.

"This book doesn't deserve even one star! An adult book, it has no main protagonist, all of the characters are dislikable, and it is just plain poorly written. Worst of all, it is all based on the idea that the israelites didn't cross the Red sea, and somehow that caused Rome to last forever. That says that God couldn't or wouldn't get the Israelites across the sea. It could have been a good ending if it was part of a duology, or trilogy, or series, but for a single book the ending just stinks, with the only good characters ( the israelite slaves) lose almost all hope of escape. lots of headaches on this one."
