About this title: The scariest book about biological meltdown since Richard Preston's "The Hot Zone, " this book tells of a problem that isn't an exotic disease in Africa but something that's already here. This book reveals how bacteria have evolved and outwitted doctors, and now are on the ascendancy.

"I enjoyed the book from a professional standpoint. From a "good read" standpoint it fell short. I am a nurse so I have experience with the bacteria mentioned and the situations encountered. I also have a view of the future if things worsen. The authors do a good job detailing the past and the present. Their view of the future is bleaker than it needs to be. This is a good read for anyone who is interested in the Pathogens that are out there and how they came to be. It is a necessary read for all people in the medical field as a well written reminder of what we are facing."
