"This was a very good book for people who enjoy sadness and action. It wasnt the best book I read this year so far. But this book gets three stars because of the cool juicy words and the way the author wrote and change it a little. I though it was wierd that all the action started at half way between the book. But still its a good historical edicational book. Vietnam was one of the worst wars, in the book you expurece what the character goes through to get home. Im going to tell you the unexpecting ending, one of the main characters friend dies in the book by a missle."
"I thought this book was a good book. It wasnt the best book i have read, but if you have read a war book before and you liked it you will probably like this book. At first this book was reasonably boring, till a about a quater way through the book then the action started. This book has a sad ending to it because Patrick has had a lot of friends dying then he gets seriously injured and one of his friends was injured worse than him. He was told that his buddy was going to be blind and has already had his two legs amputated. Then he finds out his best friend Bebop had died from the same bomb that hit him. This affected him most because of all the time they had spent together."
"The story of a All-American football player from New England gets drafted in the the war in Vietnam. He tells every thing from food to death. He meets lots of new people but also loses some too. I recommend this book to people involved in history and war."
"This is one of several war books for youth to read. This is the first one I've read, and it was so nice to read a war account without all the language that typically occurs. This way I could focus on the story more. I highly recommend this as parent/teen reading. Good way to learn our nation's history."
