"Ok, so I do not read romance novels often but when I do let it be said that I fess up to it. I am not really sure how to review a romance novel. There is only so much originality that an author can have in a romance novel. The man is supposed to be hmmmmm... a hunk of man and the girl is suppose to be pure with a secret naughty side and there you have it - a romance novel. Although this novel was as formulaic as any other I have read, the descriptions for the steamer parts were a little less cheesy (which is probably the reason why this author is a best seller). Do not get me wrong, there was some cheesiness but what can you expect when the main character is an ancient Druid Highlander. Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was."

"Let me start off by saying that this is one hell of a book, and if Dageus got any hotter, I do believe that The Dark Highlander might have imploded. Or exploded. Whatever. There would have been flames.
Dageus MacKeltar is a 16th century Scottish Druid,who, along with his twin brother Drustan and father Silvain, is sworn to uphold a sacred compact with the otherworldly Fae. They will protect the Fae history, and never use the abilities they have to travel through time for personal gain. That is, until Drustan (hero of the previous book in the series, Kiss of the Highlander), is killed. Dageus cannot live with his brother being gone, and so he goes back in time to stop the fire that would have killed Drustan. With this one act, Dageus saves his brother, but dooms himself to be the vessel that will contain an ancient evil. In present day New York, Dageus searches for a way to free himself of this curse, "borrowing" all of the ancient texts he can find with hopes of gleaning some small bit of information. But it is the bearer of one such text that will change everything for Dageus...
Chloe Zanders is a small town girl in the big city, and when the antiquities expert and museum employ is tasked with dropping off an ancient text to a wealthy benefactor, she gets in a bit over her head. When she realizes that said benefactor is the notorious ancient-text thief plaguing New York, she can't really be allowed to leave. And the fact that Dageus MacKeltar is the most stunning man she has ever seen makes her captivity a bit more...interesting.
Dageus, as I said before, is hot. With the devastating powers of the thirteen evil spirits wearing away his own humanity, he is a terrific character. He is self-sacrificing without being a martyr, determined, courageous, and charming. Chloe makes a fitting mate for him, as well. Curious, bold, and with a love of all things Scot, she manages to hold her own with the larger-than-life Dageus. There is a lot of action in this one, with the return of the great characters from the previous book. My favorite bad boy, Adam, shows up a time or two, which is always a bonus. This one is not to be missed."
