"A helpful book which covers the basic how-to and troubleshooting of breastfeeding from the point of view of La Leche League. I was glad I read the chapters specifically about breastfeeding, but chapters on other topics such a diet, baby calming, etc. were not that useful- better information on those things can be found elsewhere. A brochure probably could have conveyed the same information, plus there is a huge emphasis in the book on how important support networks are (aka attending LLL meetings), so if you are going to the meetings you probably don't need the book!"
"This book was everything you ever want to know about breastfeeding and more. I would highly recommend it for anyone who has decided to breastfeed. However, if you are undecided I think that this is way to much information and there are better books out there to give a much simpler rationale for why you should choose to nurse your baby. I began reading this the week my first was born. I would sit down to feed him (about 20 times a day it seemed) and pick this up and read simultaneously. It was wonderful because it would answer questions right as I was doing it. There did seem to be a lot of repetition and stories that I sometimes skimmed over. Overall it was very enlightening and helpful for me."

Chapter. The biggest downfall of the book is its repetition of information. Otherwise, it does cover all the basics."
