"I first took a plunge into biochemistry with a Lubert Stryer text. And the manner in which the subject has grown is collossal. The major theme(s) of structure and function are tied together as well as a well-folded protein or macromolecule. This text is wonderfully illustrated and that really pushes it over the top. And worthy of a final brief note is the implication of the subject of biochemistry for evolution and how it is judiciously addressed in the text. And a final thanks to alibris for allowing me to re-visit this subject matter at a cost that was so accessible."
