"The book is well written and a fascinating read. I read it when I volunteered at a womens shelter. Although, it mostly speaks about man-woman relationships. A lot of it is applicable other places as well. It was eye opening to read the part where Patrcia Evans talks about raising children. How different parenting styles affect children and how you can raise a tyrant, a dictator or a gentle human being. I particularly liked her insight into Hitler and the rise of Nazi Germany. There are sections in there that I feel parents of especially girls ought to read. It is very important to validate your children's feelings, etc. The book made me aware of little things that can be very damaging to the psyche of a person. I think that everybody should read this book so they become more aware of the underlying currents that run in some of our conversations. The book has repetitions and is verbose, yet worth a read. Can make you introspective :-)"
"The affirmations in this book were good, but the book got slightly repetitive. The basic message is that you are not responsible for the person's anger and should not claim to take ownership of it. It had basic good skills on how to deal with verbal abuse whether in a relationship, dealing with children, friends, or co-workers."
