"I don't recall seeing the Nat. Geo. article about the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) elders whom these guys were supposed to be reporting on (for 3 years!), but I'm glad that their contact with our "First Americans" (as the Canadians call them) was mostly a heartwarming, though sad, experience. These reporters have presented the Native Americans they met as real human beings who laugh and love deeply enough to trust two strangers to guide along their on path. This, to my mind, helps put a few more cracks into those terrible old stoney stereotypes."
