About this title: Part of a collection of Harold Pinter's works, this is a comedy of sexual manners in which Pinter captures the psyche's sly manoeuvres for self-respect with sardonic forgiveness. Written in 1978 by the author of "The Caretaker", "The Lover", "The Homecoming" and "The Birthday Party".

"An interesting play and my first experience with Pinter. It doesn't seem so absurdist (which was kind of what I was expecting) so much as naturalist. After reading a speech given by Pinter he mentions that he doesn't try to make his characters be symbols for anything but puts rather, he puts them into a situation and just listens to what they have to say. I feel like that's what Betrayal does. It's a very interesting look at the mindset of people who are engaging in an affair, and the added struggles that happen when all the parties involved are good friends.
What I enjoyed most about the play is the reverse timeline, starting at the end of the affair and working towards its start. It makes the audience want to make them stop because we've seen the damage that it will cause.
