Description: Acceptable. 044048474x Living with his little brother, Fudge, makes Peter Hatcher feel like a fourth grade nothing. He's a two-year-old terror who gets away with everythingâ?and Peter's had enough. When Fudge walks off with Dribble, Peter's pet turtle, it's the last straw. Peter has put up with Fudge too long. ... read more
"Peter Hatcher is a 4th grade nothing,or he thinks he is. He has a little brother Fudge who constantly annoys him. Peter ususally just deals with it. one day though Fudge does something extreme.
It was a book of alot of laughs. Fudge's crazy antics and acting up was very funny. The ending was very surprising but that's all i'm going to say. I have owned this book for a while but never read it.
I reccomend this book if you are looking for something funny. Some parts are pointless and not funny, but most of the time you'll be laughing."
"Judy Blume's novel chronicles Peter's adventures living with his younger brother Fudge. It seems Fudge is the most stubborn creature alive, refusing to do pretty much whatever his parents need him to do. Often times Peter is used to change Fudge's mind in a "look what Peter is doing... bet you can't do that" kind of way, and it always works, since Fudge looks up to Peter so much. There is a predominate theme throughout the book involving Peter's turtle's struggles for survival."
"If I create a category in my booklists for humor, this is probably the first book I would add. My favorite line from the book is "Eat it or wear it" - of course, Fudge ends up wearing it (his cereal, that is). Peter Hatcher is the older brother of one of the most loud, obnoxious, trouble seeking brothers known to man - in a loveable way. Life with Fudge around certainly has it's surprising moments, to say the least. But somehow, Peter manages to survive to the next book...Superfudge!"
"I know I've read this book numerous times, but Judy Blume is such a great writer that I still enjoy it. Poor Peter, with the parents that don't understand him, the rotten little brother and the weird situations he ends up in, usually trying to save his parents from Fudge's situations. It seems most unfair when he is blamed for everything Fudge gets into. As an older sister, my sympathies lie with him!
I liked reading a story set in NYC. And even though it feels a bit dated, the writing holds up well."
