"This is an okay book about the native american girl Sacagawea who helped Louis and Clerk take their trip west. I feel like the author didn't do his research on the topic extensively enough. As a result, the story doesn't come across as very authentic."
"This book gave me a whole new appreciation of Sacagawea! I can't imagine going on this journey with a one year old strapped on my back. I am probably being generous with the four star rating but three stars didn't seem like enough."
"I had to read this book for summer reading and was one of the best books I have had to read for school. I also have to write a fifthteen paragraph essay on it. I normally don't like "historical" books but I enjoyed this one. It was realistic because it was well...real. For someone at least. I enjoy learning about other cultures and customs. It was nice to see how some Native Americans lived and some still do live. Obviously this is from the perspective of one girl and I cannot possibly completely understand their way of life. The ending of this book surprised me at first but as I thought about it I realized that there shouldn't be a fairytale ending because life isn't really like that and life doesn't always goes as you plan."
