"This was an interesting book, and the authors are good writers!! If you are interested in analysis of what they found on the ship, though, this isn't the book for you; in fact, it was written while the early excavation was still in progress!! The book ends with a discussion of their plans for raising the ship. Very little of the archeology and sociology of the finds is discussed here. Sadly, that's what I bought the book for!! For example, I know from other references, that much was learned about English longbowmen was learned from the finds on this ship, but nothing of the sort is discussed in this book.
Nevertheless, if you're interested in the history of the ship, background on Henry VIII, and the story of her re-discovery, this is an excellent tale, well told!!"
