"For years, I would check this book out of the library and read through it and enjoy the history of this family. I was so happy to find that it was being produced again and sold in the bookstore. I was disappointed, however, when I discovered it was paperback and didn’t have the same vibrant, colorful pictures and glossy pages as the original that I’d grown to love. When I discovered it on this site and saw that it was hardcover, in good condition, for a great price, I couldn’t believe it. When it arrived, I was worried because it was so small and feared that I’d purchased the paperback by mistake but it was indeed the hardcover, complete with wonderful color pictures and glossy pages, just in a smaller size than the original that I checked out of the local library time and time again. I am so excited to have this book in my collection. It is my all-time favorite along with another book that my mother has used for decades. I feel with the addition of Soul Food, my collection is complete. If you love soul food and down-home cooking, this is the book to have. Make sure you get the hardcover though since, for me anyway, part of what makes a cookbook great is the wonderful pictures."
