"While the Amelia Peabody mysteries might not be the most complex and hard-to-solve around, they're one of the more entertaining historical mysteries I've read, and also one of the funniest. This round, Amelia nad Emerson leave Ramses and Nefret home with Evelyn, and return to Egypt on their own only to find themselves victims of repeated attacks. When Emerson is kidnapped and missing, and discovered with a huge gap in his memory, Amelia must discover who is responsible.
Definitely one of the better in the series, and it was nice having Ramses out of the focus this time around. He really winds up taking the spotlight in some of the others, although I definitely loved the letters from home that were inserted here and there throughout."
"In this installment of Amelia's adventures, Emerson is kidnapped, then has amnesia and doesn't remember being married to her! My favorite part of this story were the letters from Ramses, and the biggest relief was that Cyrus was not really Cyrus!"
