"Perry can write some dark humor into his work without really trying or without standing up and saying 'this is what I am doing'. In this case the reader is left to realize that all the ridiculous assumptions the Butcher Boy is making and basing his retaliations of violence on are baseless and if he had stopped over-analyzing things,he wouldn't have gotten himself into the major fix he was in. But the beauty of this book is the assassin is shown to have a heart and chooses inaction at the right moment. Cheers for the Butcher Boy and Thomas Perry. I always look forward to reading more by him."
"Not as good as the Jane Whitefield books. I did feel sympathy for the bad guy, Perry has the ability to elicit that type of feeling. Great read when I'm traveling."
"An update to my first favorite story (The Butcher's Boy). I have always been a fan of Thomas Perry (not so much the Jane Whitfield series, sorry Thomas). I enjoyed this book as much as all the others."
