"From this book I learned how God wants me to parent my children. So many parenting books are about correcting behavior but do not get to the cause of it. This book is about correcting the heart. We are to teach our children to fear the Lord and accept and live under his authority. As a parent I am to evaluate their heart which is the reason for their behavior. I am to lovingly use the rod for discipline. I am to appeal to my childrens conscience and I am to consistently show them the ways of the Lord and teach them scripture. God will change my child's heart in his timing. As a parent I must prepare them by teaching them that God is holy, just and loving. Most of all, I myself must exhibit understanding of God's word and obedience to his authority."
