"This book was really easy to read. I enjoyed the story line alot, but at some points the story was really slow and kinda lost me at some points. But over all I really enjoyed the book. I wish that there would have been alittle more action between the boy and girl in the story but definatly had my attention."
"A very gentle YA romance novel from 1942, this book explores the summer romance between Angie Morrow and Jack Duluth. Shy Angie learns what romance and longing feel like in the summer before she heads off to College in Chicago. The descriptions of nature, Fond du Lac, and of Angie's emotions all make this a wonderful read. Historical details abound due to the publication date."
"Seventeenth Summer: What Better Time Than Summer for a little romance? Except for Angie, who doesn't really date. Didn't date, that is-until she saw Jack Duluth's crew cut peeking out over a booth in McKnight's drugstore one night.
He looked over at me, smiled, and the sat down again.
Thus starts a summer Angie will never forget-one full of spine chills, total bliss, heartache, and confusion....all the feelings that spell love.
Review: This book was really good. But it's a slow book, it doesn't really have any action in it and it just more of a leisurely book to read. Its a classic romance novel. This book was copyrighted in 1942. So, some of the language text is different from what most people are used to.
I liked the plot where they don't really meet each other at first, they just see each other and from that on started a whole summer of your first love. This book also shows you what its like to grow up in the 1940s. Its a good book to sit back and enjoy. I don't want to give to much away but, I didn't particularly like the ending but, as read it that's the only thing they can do. But all in all, I gave this book Five Stars, its a really good book, and whenever you get the chance you should read it."
"This was a pretty good book, I read it in high school. I did feel like the book ended a little unfinished. It was set in the 1940's, so its a different world from today, but it was cute. She starts to fall for the popular cute guy when he smiles at her at the diner. Overall a good teenage summer romance novel."
