"Eve Bunting has written another very good Halloween book. I love the eerie sensibility that is created by the glowing eyes under the porch, as they witness the strange activities of Halloween night. We don't know to whom these eyes belong until late in the book, leaving us with something else to wonder about as the night becomes filled with creatures of every scary sort imaginable. I like this book, and would give it a definite one and a half stars."
