"There are a number of problems with this book - the publishing house is unrealistic as are several characters, it feels like it should be set in the fifties rather than the nineties, and the ending (while unexpected) is probably not my favourite ever. However, I really enjoyed the read and found it both quite well-paced and intriguing. I know most people now prefer a grittier approach to murder mysteries, but I prefer P D James' more traditionally English style - comforting and tidy!"
