"This book is kind of basic on management style. It does have a few good points and can be useful if you've never managed people.

"A Very slim self-help book that can be read in an hour or two.
The premise is that taking care of yourself actually frees you to be present and available for others. While some of the principles seems sound, I was very much put off by the gimicky presentation (the conceit is that this idea is presented to a discontented Nephew by his wise and happy Uncle over a series of conversations).

"The more I take good care of myself, the less resentment and anger I feel and the more loving I become toward myself and others". pg 51

"When you haven't hugged yourself enough, can anyone hug you often enough, or warm enough...We can never, never get enough of what we don't need. When I do not take care of myself...I do not get my own basic needs met. I then ask others to do for me what only I can do. And they never do it enough. Because others cannot meet my needs..." pg 96"

"This book is a very easy read about a very simple concept that will make managers into mentors of future leaders instead of just people who just tell other people what to do. Fantastically easy to apply to your own work situation immediately, it made a big difference in my management work and I have no reason to think that it can't do the same for you."

"This book is full of implications for managers. But the focus has been on one minute.
When every process is reduced to one minute, it leads to over simplification of the process which a manager has to undertake. It has ignored the dual role that a manager performs in structured organization where there are both subordinates and seniors. This book has teachings for seniors only. But this book talks of empowering people and giving them onus of their lives through applications of various principles of human relations and communications. An eye opener for many indeed!"
