About this title: Helena was enchanted by the Black Forest, which had been her German mother's home. Its legends of love and betrayal, courage and treachery were as real to her as the tall pines, the silver streams, the mountains and the castles. But one night Helena's fantasy became a vivid nightmare.

"This plot was a little hard for me. I just couldn't get over the idea that royalty in Germany had the right to "take" a woman if they thought she was beautiful and it was their right. I didn't like the fact that the heroine falls in love with a man who has previously slept with many woman and yet he's still the man of her dreams. I enjoyed the mystery, some parts were predictable but other parts took me by surprise. In the end I felt resolved about their relationship."
"This was really weak. A remotely interesting plot showed up about three-fourths the way through. The main characters were not endearing and rather stereotypical."
