"I really enjoyed this book - loved the characters of Annie and Izzy! I wish the author would have gone a little further with the ending though (or would write a sequel)."
"This was a great book to have with me for lunch and break reading while i was taking a class. Mostly I liked the book a lot, but I had difficulty believing in one of the major characters (Blake). I thought that it was convenient for the love story that the daughter wanted her parents to get a divorce."
"On Mystic Lake was originally published in 1999, so I saw how far Hannah's writing had come with the release of Firefly Lane in 2009.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed On Mystic Lake, but the many adjectives used made the book length longer than it had to be in my opinion. The story and plot was emotional and heartfelt, which brought this home for me. I guess I just would of liked to see a reunion with her first love at the end, not just a drive north.
I also think if the baby turned out to be someone's else's baby (no spoiler here), it would of made things much more interesting for me. Sometimes there are vescetomy miracles eh?
Overall, an emotional piece by Hannah that showed me how much better she became at the art of writing since this book's publication."
