About this title: A celebration of the joys, challenges, and even the disappointments of life, as well as an ode to self-esteem and self-determination, OH, THE PLACES YOU'LL GO! follows the adventures of a young, yellow-clad boy setting out on an amazing journey. "98 and ¾ percent guaranteed" that he will do well, the child experiences everything imaginable, from a smooth flight across a bright pastel patchwork field to facing down a furry green beast in an orange cave. Crazily patterned, strangely built, and oddly inhabited lands mimic the ups and downs of his voyage. Colorful, wildly imaginative ...

You can get so confused that you'll start in to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place. The Waiting Place...
...for people just waiting. Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or a No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance. Everyone is just waiting.
NO! That's not for you!
Somehow you'll escape all that waiting and staying. You'll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing."
"There are the books you remember reading, then there are the books that fade away in the memory never to be heard from again. But despite the time that has past since I last read this book, I cannot deny that I remember large portions of the catchy phrasing, the poetic, truthful lines about all these places you will supposedly go. I know one thing for certain it's a book I'll be reading to my children, I was never read Dr. Seuss but it seems like such a thing that everyone almost everyone needs nowadays.
So with that in mind, no matter what age, I recomend this book greatly, each and every page.
"I don't remember this book from my childhood but one way or another I stumbled across it while looking for advice to give my fantastic sister-in-law before she goes away (a long ways away) to college. So I ran out and bought the book for her. This is a great book if you are looking for a sentimental gift for someone moving, going away to school, etc. I can picture it now- she'll be on the plane, crying her eyes out because she has such a great sister and then one day she'll read it to her children. How sweet. :)"
