"I GOT THIS AS A REPLACEMENT BOOK .MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS IN COLLEGE AND NEEDED A BOOK ON BIRDS. HER PROFESSOR WAS SO IMPRESSED BY THE BOOK HE WANTED ALL IS STUDENTS TO GET THIS BOOK. THE COLORS ARE SPECTACULAR. THE BOOK IS VERY EASY TO USE ."
"The pictures generally only show one plumage and what you see and what was photographed may not necessarily match. Most birders that I have talked to hate this book. However, when I was a very beginning birder and didn't know what the heck I was looking at, I found its non-traditional organization helpful. I could just compare the shape of the bird to the key and turn to those pages, and then search by color."
"I have not used this as extensively as the Eastern edition, since I live in the east. It looks to be the same quality & I have found a couple of birds that strayed into our area, though."
