"Another trip for the Bob Whites! They go visit some island and solve a mystery, big surprise. Trixie buys a new blue bathing suit and Jim comments on its color! He LOOKED at her body in a bathing suit -- that's about as sexually explicit as the Trixies ever get. If you want more than that, you have to head for the fanfiction. (Speaking of which, it's hilarious the need the Trixie fanfic authors have to pair everyone up -- and since Dan didn't have a designated Bob White girlfriend (other than Hallie) he's often cast as the guy one of the girls is having an affair with, or he gets stuck in a threesome with Mart and Di.)
But I digress -- my favorite scene is when the girls look through Pete's mother's attic and find dresses to wear to the fundraiser. Honey gets an olive green that coordinates with her honey colored hair, Di gets lavender (predictable) and Trixie finds a darling pumpkin colored challis. Seriously? She's a freckled strawberry blonde wearing pumpkin orange? Didn't she have to wear orange in The Mystery off Glen Road for Tom and Celia's wedding? And when she tripped, her brother indicated she looked like a bruised tangerine?"
"I can just rave and rave about Trixie Belden, even though it's been awhile since I read them. She always solved the mystery, no worries! (see my reviews for the first books in the series.)"
